With enough money, you can patent the wheel, even in europe, where patent offices do virtually what they want. The only remaining question is to enforce the patent after that.
Software patents are supposed to be illegal, but more than 30,000 of them were accepted by greedy offices, who are now trying to legalize this fraud by playing on words (softwares "as such" are not patentable, but they can.. well.. if you find a good wording that will convince everybody that this is not a software patent "as such").
Anything written in software can be implemented using electronic logic
gates. Unlike customers, patent offices are not worried about cost.
