Does it compile and run as posted? If you cut from your post at or
just after "KDF:" through "End Function", and paste into that IDE,
what happens when you try to compile?

I'd be impressed if it runs at all. For example, I see what looks
like a comment saying, "number is the salt," but to me, "Number"
looks like an undefined variable.

in the code all the vairables are defined, i've alwways had isssues with
defining variables in pseudocode... as in i rarely bother when i really
should be in the habit off doing it regardless.

So what you posted is some fraction of a KDF? What good was that supposed
to do?

the important parts were posted, i left out most of the variable
declerations, except when i copied the code directly

Did anyone recommend reading existing KDF specifications? How about
the current rev of PKCS #5?

no, no one has ever recommended reading any KDF specifications

That strikes me as odd, because I'm familiar with the "books and such"
most often cited here, and I've been able to follow the explanations
of the notation. If you find the notation unclear, why not ask about
that, rather than than ramble on about you own under-specified KDF?

i've asked for references on notation on a number of occasions and got
tumble weed each time
