I would. Hint: Ever tried to factor an RSA challenge with a polynom like 2*x^6-1? That's even worse than GNFS with a long search for good polynom!

After all, this is just Mr. Kleinjung's very own statement. I think he should know it for a better.

Beside that, RSA closed their challenge *some days before* this announcement.

Sure. But it was an open secret that Kleinjung et.al. were working on
a kilobit SNFS factorization.

So what? The guys at RSA are also competent to understand that SNFS is only good for special property composites.
