I've been reading back-issues of The Cryptogram.

In the June and August, 1935 issues there is an article by "Bozo" entitled
"The Recovery of Primary Alphabets".

In it, the author indicates that he had worked in the Black Chamber.

In the October, 1935 issue, there's an announcement that William Powell
will play the lead in Bozo's and MGM's new film, "The Black Chamber". And
in the December, 1935 issue, there's an announcement that film had been
renamed "Rendezvous".

We do find a listing for a William Powell movie from 1935 entitled
"Rendezvous", at imdb.com - and in the listing of cast and crew we find
one name we know to have worked in the Black Chamber: Herbert O. Yardley.

Of course, it's possible that there was another former member of the Black
Chamber involved in the film, but it's also possible that Yardley was
writing for the Cryptogram under the nom "Bozo".

A movie, you say? There was also a long-running TV show about another spy (or at least he was certainly a master of disguise) who went by the codename "Bozo".
