Sure, I'm willing to accept it, I just couldn't find anything which mentioned it and the follow-up poster just pointed me to resources which didn't back up his claim.
I took the SATs myself in 1988 (that dates me!) and my scores (verbal and mathematics) were both multiples of 10 though.
Maybe things were less standard in those days!

Maybe you happened to score on multiples of 10.
I know that my numbers (1975) were not.
