Sure, I'm willing to accept it, I just couldn't find anything which
mentioned it and the follow-up poster just pointed me to resources which
didn't back up his claim.
I took the SATs myself in 1988 (that dates me!) and my scores (verbal and
mathematics) were both multiples of 10 though.
Maybe things were less standard in those days!
Many thanks for the info,
Justin
you are the one that claimed multiples of 10. Got any references? Put up or shut up.
in favor of the position you were taking? Apparently, Justin
has admitted that some sort of SAT score may in fact not have
been divisible by 10, at some point in the past.
Isn't that enough?
I don't mean to seem like a partypooper (or any sort of
pooper at all, for that matter), but unless you require
some sort of personal / emotional vindication for your
position, versus the error that Justin had made, there
wouldn't seem to be any purpose to any response on his
part. If you're miffed that he had essentially accused
you of lying (although not in so many words), then a
simple request for an apology would suffice.
Otherwise, I've found that Usenet is a poor venue for
seeking emotional satisfaction. Oddly enough, it's fairly
useful for the blind venting of unrequited frustration.
It just doesn't appear to achieve actual ventilation.
BTW, Justin's error is supported in a way:
From the citation you took from Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SAT
Structure
SAT consists of three major sections: Mathematics, Critical
Reading, and Writing. Each section receives a score on the
scale of 200-800. All scores are multiples of 10. Total scores
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
are calculated by adding up scores of the three sections.

So, that's all I had to say. I'm out of the discussion
from this point on.
Dale.
