but what if a
friend of a friend of a friend of someone who worked at RSA suddenly
and miraculously became aware of the two factors?
I assume that they would not be eligible for the prize if they guessed
the factors, as the challenge clearly states that the method for
obtaining the factors must also be submitted. "Random guessing" is
most likely not an eligible method, but to be sure, send them an email
or submit a factorization without revealing the method.
