I think "Cryptography Theory and Practice" is not so difficult for a
"post-graduate " student who want to pass PhD examination. Maybe, the
problem does NOT lie in your teacher.

you know,our exam contains many concrete questions but not disscussions.

So, you should ask specific questions.
