Hi folks,
First of all, please let me know if I am posting in the wrong place.
Anyway, what I ask of you is to help me a bit decyphering the following
cyphertext:
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48C84F5E
This is ought to be a bunch of 0's (zeros) and probably my username,
which was "attila". Yes, I wrote the text, with BORGChat, but they did
not tell the encryption algorithm, so I decided to do a little
research. So I clicked that Wireshark icon and sniffed a bunch of
packets. These are the data segments, I omitted all the known headers
(Frame, Ethernet, UDP...).
I checked dozens of packets, and found out that the first 8 bytes are
always 0-9+A-F. Also, the last 8 bytes are like. If we convert them to
base-10 integers, the first 8 bytes's numbers always end with 1's, 3's,
7's od 9's. It is likely that they are primes, or product of several
primes (2, if it would be a Public Key). I will check this... Anyway,
the last 8 bytes are composite numbers, or at least look like.
Now if we take the real cyphertext between the "keys", anyone with a
bit cryptographic experience woud see, that it is base64 (there are =
and == endings sometimes). But decyphering it, of course, I get
nonsense.
Also, when the user logs on / opens the chat program, I don't see any
form of key-exchange. I suspect this is not a strong encryption, and
can be broken using the given information.
If anyone could "guess" the algorythm, please let me know.
And finally, no, I do not want to eavesdrop on others, I just want to
develop a reporting application (sort of a script bot).
Thank you for your patience.
