I'm back, news, good will and all that

First off, thanks to the peeps in the other thread. Nice to know there
is some respectful folk around "on the Net." I was getting flack from
the peanut gallery but it's died down and nothing serious came of all
of it. That's the last I want to talk about that.

News, Well first off, I bought and setup libtom.org. It's my new
domain for my projects (all of them), is registered for 10 years and is
hosted on a new fast host (provided by Christophe Devine). So no more
16KB/sec downloads :-) libtomcrypt.com is still up but please use
libtom.org

libtom.org is a new site design written in perl which automates various
things for me including the download/quicklinks box as well as provides
an RSS and Atom feed that is automatically generated based on the
latest news. We're also hosting a cvsweb for those wanting to browse
the CVS of the projects. it's updated fairly often and reflects the
work in progress code.

I've formally announced the stipend offer for Toorcon in 2007 to the
amount of $1500 USD and have opened various methods of donating to the
cause. All the money raised goes towards the LibTom Project
expenditures (such as the stipend, conference expenses, machine
purchases, etc). So far after 13 days of being up we've raised $207
USD. The LTC manual is for sale (and available at cost as well) and
there is a PayPal link. I should mention that the deficit is made up
with my own money. So if I only manage to raise [say] $500 then the
remaining $1000 comes out of my pocket.

I think the stipend project is a worthy cause. The person who received
one in 2005 managed to deliver a talk internationally, and is now
donating their own stipend in 2007. So there has been success in the
project already. Along with the stipends we will be providing LTC
manuals for free at conferences (well the ones we attend anyways) and
are continuing to work on new projects.

We're currently busy at work on UVLAN, Jean-Luc and I have teamed up to
produce UVLAN 0.01 due January 13th. Briefly, it's an encrypted L2
switch to join L2 networks over UDP/IP. It currently works very well,
we use it ourselves for our personal networks. The project just needs
to be shaped up into somethign we can release publicly. More details
to follow. LibTomMath 0.40 was released recently and LibTomCrypt 1.17
is slated for late January early February.

Anyways, thanks for the kind words. I'm back and about. Check out the
new site, consider a donation [or not hehehehe], and have a happy new
years.

Peace, Paix, Pace, and the works,

Tom
