Hidden Encryption

Hi,

I have a few question which I hope someone has the time to answer.

Firstly, If you encrypt a hard drive with Twofish, how would one go
about mounting a brute force attack? Would you have to know explicitly
what encryption method is being used and apply a particular brute force
attack for that algorithm? Or will the same brute force attack method
work on every encryption algorithm?

Secondly, If a hard drive is encrypted with a primary container and
within this primary container, there is a hidden container, would a
brute force attack reveal the hidden containers passphrase as well as
the primary containers pass phrase? Or will it only find the primary
passphrase but miss the hidden passphrase?

My last question is, if an 8 character passphrase is used using
Twofish, how long would it take to crack it if a brute fore attack was
mounted?

Thanks for any information!

Regards
Sean
