This must be an interesting field, I mean, it's really not simple to
define a meaningful matching routine with the sample in order to keep
the system both secure and usable.
It's in principle not unlikely to cam-based surveillance software that
save pictures only when movement is detected, where the "sample" is the
last saved frame and the system should define when something is
happening in the sight of the cam, discarding pictures over a certain
degree of correlation with "sample" and saving the new picture if the
degree of correlation is lower. The quality of the algorithm used (and,
of course, the quality of the sampling device, in this case the cam)
makes the difference between an usable system and a non usable one.
