That's a very dangerous (and very, very ugly) path to tread. You end up
saying that some people are worth more than others.
That is a danger. But society says it all the time. People are
different. We try to make up for the differences and that to is bad.
Because people are not the same. We may wish it not so, You may make
rules like socialism to equalize the playing field but that does not
work either. Life is tuff you can not pretend otherwise.
Do you want doctors to operate on you that lack the ability to learn
or do you want doctors who got there degree not because they had the
mental ability or skills but because they belonged to some racial
group and a quota was used. It just as discriminating to keep people
out based on race as it is to use race to keep people in. There should
be tests. Is it really so bad if the doctors mostly end up being chinese.
Or if lawyers end up mostly being Jewish I don't think so if they know
the job.
Some people build houses on beaches or other beautiful spots. Why
should those of us that don't live there have to pay a larger insurance
premium to finance those that do. The premium should take everything
into account. Same with health.
You can start by discriminating (this is the correct word and the
correct use of this word) against people of Jewish extraction because
they are more likely to carry Tay-Sachs and further exclude Eastern
European Jews because they are more likely to be or develop insulin
dependent diabetes, kidney and heart disease.
Look captialism may be ugly but it works a lot better than
socialism. Just look at France and rest of Europe how long do you expect
there corrupt govenments to last. Unfortunately you arguments are
so sweet and PC we are blindly headed in that same direction.
If DNA tests are used sure Tay-Sachs people would have a rough
time. Hopefully some help would be available at researh centers
but in medicine there will never be enough. The disease you mention
was caused by inbreeding. It happends to populations that are small
and closed. If DNA testing reaches its goal people before they marry
could see if such a child would result. If two people know the risk
why should the rest of us pay. Besides its a fact if you drop the
race label you would have heather kids if you married some one
of a different race. I am not saying a jew should not marry a jew
but that at least if you marry some one closer genetically you should
do more tests becauce of the increased likely hood of genetic diseases.
If may be possible before conception to someday kill sperm that
has certain DNA to prevent that sperm from joining the egg. I am
not saying to delete it from the gene pool totally if its a resesive
gene but stop the change of double pairings. That is if the parents
want cheap health insurance but they should be free to make that choice
on there on. Just as was should not have to pay for the poor
choices of others. Go ahead I disagree with you call me
a racist but I know that you are more of a racise than me.
Lie, cheat, steal, murder, mass murder, treason, it's all good if you
only have yourself to rely on.
You may think its good to do such things. I don't.
