AES operation order

i am only just learning about cryptology and AES and i was hoping that
someone could explain to me the importance of the order of the four
operations in AES.

i have tried searching for information on this topic but any
information i come across is very detailed and confusing (too me)

the main reason i am asking is to find out whether changing the order
of the operatons, especially the Add Round Key, would change the
stength of the algorithim

any info or links would be great
