hiya bryan,

i hope my previous post - the one about quantisation -
clears up any misunderstandings about the perceived
(not actual) claim that averages of 5000 are within
a p-value of 0.01: i _have_ said that i am simply using
the p_value() function as a guide to subdividing the
data into easily-analysable blocks, arranged into
groups by the number of bits in the output.

also i should mention that i _have_ been providing
the "gnuplot" scripts that are used to generate the
histograms, but i should also mention, in fairness,
that i didn't read the manual until _after_ i found
a tool/command (dgrid3d) that successfully allowed
me to identify anomalies.

i'm still sufficiently skeptical of dgrid3d's "averaging"
capabilities to actually double-check the raw
histogram data - for example the points with
indeces i or j being 0,1,126 or 127 _are_ well above
or below the average.
