HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Cryptography\RNG

Does anyone know anything about this key? It just has one value "Seed",
which is of REG_BINARY type. I wrote a little program to monitor the key for
changes and left it running for a few hours, when i came back i was
surprised to see that it was being changed at irregular intervals -
sometimes seconds apart, sometimes hours:
