No. It is not a crisis of personality. It has been already noted
that the majority of suicide bombers are from the educated middle
class. What happens is they have recently learn how to be analytical
and for the first time they also start to think about their role in
the world (the first time they have ever had to think about things
like employment, work and a long term future etc) and they see that
many of the things they believed aren't true - in particular they see
that life is not fair. This causes disillusionment with what is seen
as the establishment. With the correct "grooming" they can become
terrorists or suicide bombers.
Currently the approach has focused on destroying/suppressing the
anti-establishment - but this approach brings even more people into
contact with brutal side of governments. By itself it does not work.
It is not a crisis of personality but a crisis of conscience that
make someone become vulnerable to extremist philosophy.
