That's part of the problem--LOTS of replies from other people.

There are people who have obsessively tracked my posts for years,
replying and replying and replying, and they clog up threads I create,
but notice, not all threads I create.

My analysis is that the clearer a thread is, in terms of presenting
facts and arguments that support me, the more likely certain posters
will reply a lot in that thread, basically to keep there from being
serious discussion in my work.

They work to break up any serious discussions.

But beyond that I create threads as I get ideas that I think are
interesting, that I want to talk out, which I don't feel I covered in a
previous thread, or can cover in a previous thread, which is part of
the brainstorming process.

And sometimes I create threads just to rant. Often I don't reply again
in those threads.

It's Usenet. People post on Usenet, and do so in many different ways.

I have my way, which works for me. Others can go their own way.

It's one of the wonders of the medium.
