direct access to the zeros page area required special raw disk
permission ... even special permission for r/o raw disk permission of
that disk area.
also as mentioned, i changed it fairly early on to an instruction loop
(the instruction loop was shorter than the pathlength to do a page i/o
operation) ... and even as an undergraduate ... they got to be fairly
good at shipping my code in the product.
