Yes, for brute force attacks you have to mimic the algorithm by a computer.
But then, you use brute force again.

My question's aim was more like that: Is there any hand cipher
without any deeper mathematical weaknesses, so all you can do is
brute forcing the key?

Nearly all hand ciphers i know of seem to have been solved even
without the help of computers.
