Not 'seconds' I hope?
I notice when my GSM transmits, on the audio here it actually
interferes just before a call comes in (handshake with base station),
but normally it is quiet when sitting on the bookshelf.
If every few seconds it would flatten the battery in no time.
So when you say seconds what do you mean?
