By the way, can Enigma be cracked by brute forcing rotor settings (not
hard), then deducing the plugboard settings with frequency analysis?
To find out of a rotor setting is correct, just check the frequency of
letters in the plaintext. Those which are valid are saved, then
frequency analysis is applied and the one which yields a valid message
is printed.
