That wasn't a breakdown in communication, and in fact you have
mischaracterized the "debate". The onus of proof was not on
me, because I wasn't the one making unsubstantiated claims.
You were claiming that a design having just enough rounds to be
secure against all known methods of attack was not as good as
one with additional rounds. I simply challenged that as being
not supported by any known sound line of reasoning. If any
"references" should be cited, they should therefore be
references that substantiate that claim. I suspect they don't
exist, since it seems possible to devise a counterexample
where an excessive number of rounds is demonstrably weaker.
