Vanishing post

On 23 August I posted a few code snippets of an encryption algorithm.
I thought I'd revisit to check if there had been any further feedback. It
was no longer there.
My browser displays all read messages regardless how old so it's not a
question of local settings.
I deleted the sci.crypt.dbx file to force reloading all news group messages
and headers.
The responses are there but my original post is not. "Question about VB5
encryption algorithm (included)"

Google still has it but I no longer find it here.

Is this normal SOP for this news group?
