It doesn't; you still need to compromise the renter's lock for the
box you wanted to open. Having the guard key only solves half the problem
(without it you'd also have to compromise the guard lock).
Actually, in practice it would solve *less* than half the problem, since
there may be other security mechanisms that make it difficult to put
random keys in random boxes without detection,
