I guess most people has a copy of Bruce Schneier's Applied
Cryptography (2nd edition).
Q. The book was published in 1996 when the US had restrictions on
cryptography. In Jan 2000, crypto was allowed to be exported without a
licence to non-US embargoed destinations and non-foreign goverments.
So why does the book does not come with soft copy of the source codes?
At least, the source codes can be made available for download. (I have
written to the author about this. I doubt a convincing reply.)
Q. The book cover has a image similar to some kind of UFO. What is it?
