Hello all,
I'm curious as to what the group think about the crypto implementation
in the .Net framework, or other crypto APIs provided by Microsoft or
other third parties, for that matter.
I don't want to sound like some conspiracy theory nut here, because
I'm not, but historically the field of cryptography has shown
corporates, both here in the UK and in the US, in bed with the
government. An example of what I'm talking about is during WW2 when
the UK government had a deal with the wire companies to pass traffic
them as well as the intended recipient.
Anyway, I'm curious to get the group's thoughts as to whether these
APIs offer a robust framework for cryptography, or whether it's likely
they contain a weakness that may leave them open to cryptanalysis.
Regards,
Gary
