I have a virus that seems to have hijacked my dial up internet
connection. It won't let me log on to microsoft sites and keeps
turning off my auto updates. It also adds an internet connection of
its own "z-cnnect".I keep getting a msg telling me to download
registry updates from www.restorefix.com.
I have re installed windows so am now back to xp sp1. Also I am
unable to re format my hard drive.
Grateful for any assistance.

You'll need to be more specific about "unable to reformat my hard drive".
