Password
In order for me to comply with a third party PCI security program, I would
like to configure my XP Pro system to ensure that the password saving
checkbox in Terminal Services clients will be disabled and users will no
longer be able to save passwords. I have attempted to do the by selecting a
group policy object to edit within the Microsoft Management Console. Then,
selecting Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows
Components > Terminal Services > Client. From this point, I was instructed
to "Right-click Do not allow passwords to be saved and select Properties. In
the Properties window, choose Enabled and then click OK."
My problem is that when I reach "Windows Components", the "Terminal
Services" object is not displayed. The objects that are displayed are:
"Search", "Windows Media Player", and "Windows Update".
My computer is not part of a domain, but is part of a workgroup consisting
on this single computer. Can anyone tell me how to reach the "Terminal
Services" object in order to proceed?
Thanks very much.
