Thank you Lanwench-

I will attempt that faith to see if that pervails, but it is quite
strange that after installing Active X under Administrator (log in)
that it doesn't keep for the user.

Thanks!

That sounds pretty normal to me!

Here's the scope on things. I have a client whom we set up a network
using a VPN and workstations logging on. There are three clients,
each are using XP Pro, and all with Service Pack3. One of the system
is a notebook... no real problem here, yet. Two are desktops. One of
them is fairly new. An older machine is what I impose this question
about.

So, let me explain what the issue is, and perhaps someone has a
suggestion as to why this is happening, or a recommendation to
resolve the issue?

This user logs onto the system with limited user rights. Because we
restrict him. So, he has to reboot as ADMINISTRATOR and download and
install the applications he needs on the workstation and then logs
off and re-logs back on as himself but what doesn't seem to work is
Active "X" controls on the browser.

He uses a program called "Oceanwide", to search for their
Import/Export logs of shipping, so he needs the sofware in order to
see this, and when Active X isn't working, he can see it nor can he
print anything.

But, he logged off as himself and logged back on as Administrator
and it's there working, but not as his own user.

Perhaps something is missing, or something should be turne on to
allow him to seek and use the features. Can someone advise me on
what action should be done?

Thanks for your support.

This is a per-user thing, and he needs admin rights to install
ActiveX controls (but not to run things previously installed).
Temporarily add his account to the local administrators group, and
then do the install under his login. Then remove him from
administrators.
