transfer folder from XP to Vista via LAN

I am trying to transfer a folder from my old computer, that only works in
safe mode and has Windows XP to my new computer which has Vista. So I shared
the folder on my old computer with everyone and then tried to get to it over
our homenetwork.
The network is ok, I can see the folder in my Explorer on my new computer.
But when I click on it, it says I don't have access to it. I can not figure
out how to get access. What should I do?
