Re: Security Center disabled

Hi, I have used NIS for years and it has never disabled the security

NIS firewall and it does turn off the Windows firewall, but the security
center is still started and you are able to access it from the control
panel option.

I did stop the SD-resident and teatimer and restarted my laptop. The
security center service was again disabled and stopped. Something is
causing
this to happen at startup. Any ideas or suggestions on where to look?

All the installations of NIS I've seen have their own Security Center.
Perhaps you just decided not to allow it when you installed.

What is the answer to:

The First Question Of Troubleshooting: If the problem is new, what changed
between the time things worked and the time they didn't?

What other security programs do you have installed? Are you one of those
people who thinks having 8 different antivirus/security programs installed
with 5 of them running resident is A Good Thing? It isn't and one of those
programs could be the culprit.

If you are sure the computer is malware-free, do clean-boot troubleshooting
to determine what is interfering with your Security Center service. You can
also look in Event Viewer for clues.
