First off I admit I am a complete computer moron so i ask take it slow

Go to
www.malwarebytes.org
and download the free version, but do not run it yet.
(you have to run it to download the latest definitions)
Clear out temp Internet files using the tool in your browser.
Boot into Safe Mode, and then run Malwarebytes.
Remove any infections that it finds.
Boot into regular mode, and run it again.
(If you didn't update it before, at least update it now)
All clear? If so, turn off the System Restore function. This will take a
minute or two.
When it has finished whirring away, re-instate System Restore and create a
new restore point..
Report back here with a progress report..
