Can you rework your service so that your customers don't have to use VPN to connect? Maybe Terminal Server?

My company is a unix house but we have a client which runs on Windows XP. Users connect to our site with MS VPN client and out software. However, when they do this, they can't connect to systems on their LAN, such as their Outlook Server..
I know there is split tunnel routing but don't like the security issues caused. Is there any other solution for them?
