The answer to your previous post is yes. I do see the name “User” instead
of “E41” (E41 is the actual log-in name) for several processes. (I am logged
in as E41)
As to your second post, when I do A LOG-OFF it states “E41 is logged on as
(Computer name)\user”
When I do the same on a different computer it states “You are logged on as
(Computer name)\RES41”
Why the difference from the computer that works correctly (“You are
logged…”) compared to the one I’m having problems with (“E41 is logged…”)

No, if I were to go ahead and log in as “user” I can look at the User
Accounts and see the correct name(not "user"): as if I were properly logged
in. Basically the only place I can see “user” is in the log-in screen. There
is no “user” account.
The only thing I see in Scheduled Tasks is “Add Scheduled Tasks”

the Control Panel it changes back to User ?
Are there any Scheduled Tasks set up to run under User ?
In Control Panel open Scheduled Tasks to see if that's the case.

annoying to have to change it when there is no "user" account. In this
environment "user" will work though. I work for a city fire department which
