We had a crash and burn, likely a virus infection, on our home
machine. It was running XP Home and the wife's email was the default
in OE 6. We used password protected user accounts to sign into the
computer, to keep the kids eyes out of things, and unfortunately
this is what's causing my problem.
I installed a new version of XP Pro in a different folder on the
drive, and have just about restored the machine, except for some
folders that -- and the default email dbx files -- that are under my
wife's name in documents and settings in the old installation. Of
course, every time I try to access those folders, to copy old files
out, I get an access denied message.
Anybody know of any way to get inside that folder and move her stuff
so I can rebuild her inbox, personal message folders, documetns,
address book, etc?
Thanks for any and all help.

I do appreciate this, but I probably should have been more verbose in
my original post.
I've tried most of these, but to no avail. The folders I need to
access were created and stored under the XP Home installation, and
they're not letting me change the security. And, unfortunately, XP
Home does not allow turning off simple file sharing.
To be more concise, my real problem -- the reason I installed a second
copy of Windows, using XP Pro -- was that we're getting an error on
boot up under the original installation. The system halts and tells me
that the logon process was terminated. I've tried several of the fixes
listed in the Microsoft support forums, but cannot get at the files
necessary to experiment with those fixes. I cannot even get the
machine to boot in safe mode under the old, original XP Home
installation.
