While searching all of these programs, seemed that Norton 360 was a all inYou can use Microsoft Personal Firewall, SpyBot Search & Destroy and or
one, well that didn't work for me, it shut off ports, and didn't tell me.
Then there is AVG but they don't sell an all in one, plus there is no phone
support, do they do firewall? I don't think so.
Now we have Lavasoft which I liked and used, and also there ad-aware but
they do do have anti virus and no phone support. i quit using the firewall
because for some reason i had to uninstall it and reinstall it, then it ran
but i had access to the controls
Now Windows live one care had phone support, but after so many problems with
update downloads was not worth my time, or per windows people for the cost
of 50.00 its hard to hire techs for support calls, and one would get back to
me in a few days, I needed a senior tech.
So I assume I have to buy a firewall, a anti-virus, anti-spy, i know some of
these have 2 combined, but some of it is so hard to absorb, then you have to
go to their forums for support.
Now what I don't know without wasting more of my time, is that if i buy the
AVG or Lavasoft and i don't like the product are they going to refund my
money.
To me this is all Corporation BS making you buy all this software.
Sorry if I offended anyone with that remark, but any comments or suggestions
appreciated.
I just have the windows firewall now and will go to get the free AVG, I feel
like my computer is not safe and those hackers and worms are just waiting for
a door to open :(
Lavasoft, and Avast. Full coverage, zero cost and minimal pain. You
can even configure all to automatically download their updates and run
the scans while you sleep. Just a thought.
