Hello,
Is there a way to change the name a computer is registered to. We have a
laptop in our organization that we want to give to another employee but it
was registered to another name when it was setup orginally. Is there anyway
to change the name after it's been registered?
thanks, Kathy
To do this manually, do the following.
Go to Start -> Run and enter regedit in the Open box to launch the Registry
Editor.
Navigate to the following registry key.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
In the right hand pane, right click on RegisteredOwner and select Modify from
the menu.
Enter the new owner's name.
Here's an article with more info.
