I thought we were still running IE 6.x, but knowing the wife, she may have updated against my instructions. If I "downgarde" to 6.x, will ctfmon go away? It seems that it slows the PC down when it's running.
I also imagine that if I outright delete it, IE will somehow repopulate it.
As I said, it seems extremely unlikely to me that ctfmon.exe is causing your issues. However, you may wish to post your question in the newsgroup for Internet Explorer: microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general. Make sure you include the version of IE you're using in your post.
Sorry I was unable to help you.
