When I logged on this morning after shutting down the computer last night, I noticed that my internet explorer history and passwords had been deleted. At first I thought to myself, someone else must have used this computer and deleted these files. But then when I went to Event Viewer, Security, I see that some events have occurred that don't bear this out. Can some official Microsoft person please look at my Event log and tell me if I've been hijacked? The results are very strange.
This is a peer-to-peer newsgroup where you can get free tech support from other users, not Microsoft. While some MS employees occasionally post here, the majority of helpers are volunteers who don't work for the company. If you want official MS tech support, it is not free.
Contact MS - http://support.microsoft.com/gp/contactuswindows?sd=win
MS International Support - http://support.microsoft.com/common/international.aspx
If you want help from the newsgroup, you can give a few examples of what you think is happening. You also need to include information about what security you have in place, how you connect to the Internet, what version/Service Pack level of XP you have, etc.
How to Post:

You can also run through some general malware removal steps as suggested here:

Or you can have a local computer professional (not someone from BigComputerStore/GeekSquad) come on-site and take a look.
