Re: Update Problem

The section of the log you posted is of no use. The update is not Critical. Those updates are security related, this one deals with functionality.
If the issue described in KB934238 is not occurring, then suggest you just hide the update next time it's offered.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934238

Since the update never created an installation log, there is nothing to check to see why it failed to install.

I have not noticed any changes with the system since I have attempted to install the update. I saw it was a critical update and thought it might be important. Though I also have not yet attempted to print anything.

I have installed .Net Framework 1.1, 1.1 Hotfix, 2.0 Service Pack 1, and 3.0 Service Pack 1 are all listed in the Add or Remove Programs Box.

I looked for the log, but nothing appeared. However, I think I isolated it in the the windowsupdate.log

Click OK or press Enter

BTW, is the system afflicted with this issue ? :

On non-English versions of Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP, some text in the print dialog box unexpectedly appears in English after you install the .NET Framework 3.0

IF not, is .NET Framework 3.0 installed ? Check in Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel to see if it is listed.
