Recently, my user had a problem with his laptop unable to receive video. The laptop boots up fine but, can't view anything on the screen. Well now my user has a new laptop but, wants files restored from the old laptop. To get my users files restored, I slaved in the old laptop to a PC by using a IDE hard drive cable adapter. This is so I can get my user's files backed up our company network and them transfer to my users new laptop. Now I'm running in a situation where I'm able to see my users hard drive on the PC and able to login to open other folders and applications but my problem is accessing my users files from C:\Document and Settings\User\My Documents. I'm logged in as admin level trying to access these files but, I continue to receive an error "Access denied". Can someone help me please? I tried everything as far as taking ownership of the user files.
If you still get the "access denied", you haven't "tried everything as far as taking ownership of the user files". Review the instructions again.
