I have no idea to what you're referring. If this is related to an old thread, you should have kept it in that thread. As for backing up possibly infected files, if you're referring to backing up data you always back up data (if not already done) and you always scan that data before putting it back on a clean machine. Otherwise, I have no idea what you're talking about.

As for the question you asked about what Symantec told you - yes, there is plenty of malware that Symantec products would miss. I couldn't possibly comment on what you had, what they told you, or what they/you did since I didn't see your computer.
