ied to use the run command i am currently running Windows XP home edition and
recently i tried to back up my hard drive using the system tool backup. But
the backup utility is not to be found in start> accessories> system tools. i
also tried to use the run command (ntbackup) but this would not work either.
does anybody have any suggestions on how i can backup my hard drive?
The Windows Backup program, ntbackup.exe, is by default not installed on a
system running XP Home Edition. It can be installed from the installation CD.
Take a look at this article for more info.
HOW TO: Install Backup from the CD-ROM in Windows XP Home Edition

If you don't have an actual XP installation CD, you can download the ntbackup
installation file here.

Keep in mind that there are better options than ntbackup if you're aim is to
backup the entire contents of your hard drive. For that task you might want to
consider an imaging program such as Acronis True Image or Norton Ghost.
Good luck
