Re: Boot up passwords

Hi,
Been trying to get into my "Boot up" and "Set up" menu's, but unfortunately, it seems I have lost the password. I get three attempts and then windows starts normally.
Is there any way I can retrieve my "boot up" password, which is different from my log on password.
Help!

Getting into the BIOS when it is password-protected depends on the machine. If a desktop, simply removing the CMOS battery for a while (can vary from a few minutes to over night) will return the BIOS to default settings. If a laptop, check with the laptop mftr. and/or Google for something like "clear BIOS password [computer make]".
