Internet Access - Intermittent

When trying to access the internet via Firefox, the activity will
"stop" for about 20 seconds (the icon which indicates a search in
process "freezes") and then start up again for 10 to 15 seconds. This
cycle repeats itself over, and over under any condition.

This issue happens only when I am signed on under one of the two
profiles (ie. Frank and Janet) on my PC. While signed on under the
other profile (ie. Hi-Pointe Capital), the problem does not occur.

My PC is a Dell desktop, about 10 months old. I run windows SP, home
addition, service pack 2. I update windows nightly. I use Trend
Micro PC-cillin and run that and update it nightly.

I have recently downloaded Spybot and Ad-Aware and I am running those
trying to find my problem.

I am also starting to have some other problems as outlined below.

2) Windows based software looses some formatting (This is strange !)
a) Ex.
i) under "explorer" in a tiles view, the yellow
folders disappear. The folder names are still
present
ii) In a Word doc the red box with a white x in the
upper right hand corner, the white "x" disappears
b) These problems occur on both profiles and appears after a
day or more of not rebooting...but more recently has occurred after
several hours from a "restart"

3) More recently, with one profile logged on, in one or two occasions,
can't, access the other profile.

4) Upon rebooting, could not log on access my profile: received
following error mesg:
a) Generic Host Process for Win32 Services..."Generic Host
Process for Win32 Services encountered a problem and needed to close.

5) Upon starting: received following error mesg
a) "The instructions at "0x7c918fea" referenced memory at
"0x00000010". The memory could not be written.

6) "Value creation failed at line 903."

7) "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc000012D). Click
on OK to terminate the application."

Can you advise.
