Gilbert,
It appears that someone else *may* 'own' your system. What is the installed antivirus/security software and is it/are they up to date with the latest definitions ?
What happens when you scan the system with the AV ?
See if you can stop the UPnP service from within the Services console
Start > Run > type in services.msc
Click OK
In the right frame scroll down to Universal Plug and Play Devices Host
Click on it, then click the Stop the service button
What happens ?

Hello: I am running Windows XP Home w/SP2. My question is about the icon in the control panel. Just recently the icon has changed from the normal Windows colors to an all red with a white x in the middle, next to the icon is the words: Run the program, after clicking this I get the Security Center screen an all the security displays are green. At the top of the Security Center screen is the words: Hide icons for networked UPnP devices. Is this something new or has my Security icon some how hot messed up? If so how can I get my normal Security icon back? I do not want to reinstall the XP/SP2 operating system again. Thanks, Gilbert.
