..erm isn't that the point of mandatory profiles???

If you're using mandatory profiles, wouldn't it be just a one time
thing to do anyway? All your users could be using the same mandatory
profile, you update it by whatever means then switch it back to a
mandatory profile when finished updating. Users then all see the same
locked down profile as you've updated then can change it all they want
though the changes will never be saved!

If you're having to make changes on an individual basis per user,
wouldn't it be better to create a default user profile, the way that
you see gives users what you want, then let them manage the profile
themselves???

...just a thought!
