So you have not patched, updated, installed *any* new software or hardware
(hardware drivers) onto your computer in a year? No AntiVirus software
updates, no Windows updates, no other software updates? For 365+ days?
That's a problem in itself.
However "today" when you started it said "Restarting (sure it was not
restoring?) operating system to Factory based (sure it was not base?)"
Unfortunately - you have to understand there is *no such feature* in Windows
XP. That message would represent some third party OEM (likely)
methodology - usually triggered by a combination of keystrokes or the
likes - to restore the computer to the state that it was when it was first
shipped from the manufacturer.
Your ONLY solution is to contact the manufacturer to find out what their
process does, how it is started, what to do if it is accidentally started,
etc. Then come back to let us know what you found out (or at least who the
manufacturer is, etc.)
