XP Pro x64 SP2
Actually let me re-phase that. I have a shared directory on my small
business network main pc (XP Pro x64). I really don't want it shared
to everyone except my developers.
The share permissions are one thing - but the more important permissions are
the NTFS ones. I tend to leave the share permissions wide open, and control
access to the data via NTFS permissions. I also like to create shares as
hidden (e.g., C:\Data\Developers would be shared as
\\computername\developers$ ).
In Win2K Pro I can give access right to certain users (Developers). I
can't find the same type of property interface w/the security tap
that will allow me to set the access rights to this drive on x64.
Disable Simple File Sharing.

How can you define a group access rights. I created a new group for
my developer and I want to custom define thier acces rights to the
system.
For instance, I have a dynamic compress hd create by the Admin and
no other group can access this drive, but I only want the users in
my Development group to have access. BUT, I don't wont to give
Admin powers to my developer.
Thus, bring me to this question on how to customize a group. In
fact, how do you find the detailed access rights information on any
group. The properties value of the group just shows who's in the
group, but no information how group it self is defined.
Are you talking about a standalone WinXP workstation (wanting to
control access to it at the console itself), or access to one across
the network? What version of XP? Home or Pro?
